Citizen Kane Question

Why does when Kane talks to another person, he says their name over 4 times in one sentence.

    Interesting observation.

    Ideas:
    Could it have been style of communication, a formal way of speaking, popular in the '40s, using peoples' names when speaking to them?

    Or maybe it was a device used by the filmmaker / writer to add clarity to the story line?
